Quinley named Communication Arts Distinguished Alumnus of the Year
Andrew Quinley was recently named the 2020 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year for the Department of Communication Arts.
"Andrew was an exceptional student when he was at Lee," said Dr. Joel Kailing, chair of the Department of Communication Arts. "In his career, he makes use of the knowledge and skills he gained as a communication/advertising major to equip believers around the world to spread the gospel. He is creative and constantly innovating to find ways to be more effective in ministry and mission."
Quinley and his wife Jacki live in the mountains of northern Thailand where they have committed themselves to discipling a young generation of the unreached in Southeast Asia. The duo helped to establish Medialight, a non-profit aimed at discipling and developing leaders and media communicators for the body of Christ around the world. Students from different parts of the world arrive at their doors every year.
During the pandemic, Medialight created online courses to help pastors effectively reach out and grow their communities online.
Quinley credits his time spent at Lee and its professors for the formative concepts that guide him in his role as communicator and trainer of communicators across the world.
Quinley and his wife have three young children, August, Reese, and Thor.
The announcement of this award took place during Lee's virtual Homecoming celebration last month.
